Participation Policy

Our events are designed to be low-pressure, welcoming, and accessible. This Event Participation Policy explains what you can expect from us—and what helps the experience feel good for everyone who attends.

  • Show up as you are. No preparation needed and no pressure to be outgoing. Join at the level that feels right for you.
  • Participation is flexible. Arrive late, leave early, participate fully, or simply enjoy being present. All are valid ways to be part of the event.
  • Activities come first. Each event is built around a shared task or experience that makes connecting easier. You’re welcome to join or observe quietly.
  • We keep information clear. Event listings include location details, accessibility notes, and whether RSVP is helpful. If anything is unclear, feel free to reach out.
  • We maintain a respectful culture. We expect kindness, inclusion, and care for the people and spaces involved. Disruptive or harmful behavior isn’t part of our culture.
  • Accessibility matters. We do our best to choose venues and activities that support different abilities and comfort levels. Reach out ahead of time if you have needs we should know about.
  • Hosts are there to help. If you feel uncomfortable, have a question, or need support during an event, talk to a host—they’re there to make participation smooth and welcoming.

Cumberland Flux aims to offer a dependable rhythm of events where neighbors can connect comfortably and meaningfully. These guidelines help keep that rhythm steady for everyone.
