Flux Cafe

An Easygoing Summer Gathering
A relaxed gathering built around good drinks, shared tables, and easy conversation.
July 25 @ 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Event overview
Flux Cafe is where Cumberland Flux began, so this month we’re returning to our roots with a summer version of the gathering: coffee, iced coffee, homemade lemonade, shared tables, and a calm rhythm that makes connection feel a little more natural.
The point is still the experience — make a drink, enjoy the process, settle in, and let conversation happen when it happens. There’s no emphasis on expertise, tasting notes, or doing things “right.” You can try a brewing method, help with lemonade, pour something over ice, or simply sit with what sounds good.
Both indoor and outdoor seating areas will be open, so you can choose the kind of space that feels best for you that day.

Your Place

Cumberland Community Cafe
Cumberland Community Cafe is a welcoming, pay-what-you-can café built on the simple idea that good food and good company should be accessible to everyone. Warm, community-centered, and grounded in dignity, it’s a space where neighbors gather, connect, and share a table.
What you can expect
- Coffee, iced coffee, tea, and homemade lemonade as simple, hands-on activities
- A simple setup you can join without needing experience
- Indoor and outdoor seating areas open
- Space to linger, talk, or just enjoy being there
No rotations, no loud icebreakers, no spotlight moments.
Typical arrival
You walk in and see something already in motion — people settling in, drinks being prepared, a table getting set up, and a simple way to join without needing an introduction.
You can take a minute to orient, choose an indoor or outdoor seat, and ease into the activity. Conversation usually grows out of what’s happening at the table.

Drink options at a glance
Different drink options simply offer different experiences.
| Method | What it tends to offer | Things to be aware of |
|---|---|---|
| French Press | Fuller texture and body | Some sediment |
| Pour-over | Cleaner, lighter cup | Takes a bit more attention |
| Immersion / infusion | Simple and forgiving | Less variation |
| Tea brewing | Aromatic and flexible | Steeping time matters |
| Iced Coffee | Familiar, cool, and easygoing | Flavor changes as the ice melts |
| Homemade Lemonade | Bright, refreshing, and hands-on | Sweetness can be adjusted |
There’s no “best” choice — just what you enjoy.
